What a great start to Term 3

We started the week with a measurement problem. We worked with our buddies to help Frannie, Rick, Jo and Beth to build a Faraway Tree for them to live in. The maths mates that worked best together and followed the instructions in the brief won a prize!

We were also lucky to have Tanna bring in her pet rabbit, Fluffy. We all loved meeting her and some of us were fortunate enough to pat her! Thank you Tanna for sharing one of your fur babies with us!

Not only did we get to do some fun maths, meet a rabbit and create some beautiful art we also got to meet Elgregoe the Magician. We were all fascinated by his magic and beautiful birds that were a part of his illusions.  Ryder also volunteered to be a part of a trick. We soon started to realise he was a real life hero and that we were all heroes too.

Waihanga

Kia ora whānau

Please find a letter below sent to the class by two wonderful Legends.

Waihanga is about letting our young minds grow. Creating pieces of work we are proud of and would like to show off to a wide audience. We were inspired by the team at Toitoi. They created amazing books full of children's hard work and accomplishments. We would love it if you gave Waihanga a go by submitting something off the below list.

If you are going to submit a piece of art we would love you to submit two pieces. If we like your art we might send you a story so you can illustrate or draw a picture to go with it. To submit a piece of art get a photo of it and send it to sopyar@hoonhay.school.nz or soppar@hoonhay.school.nz . If you are submitting a piece of writing type it up on a computer and send it to the above emails also.

Work has to be submitted by the end of WEEK 4 TERM 3. Feel free to work on your project during the school holidays or to even send in your work then too.
