Today in reading we were trying to understand how to connect to a story. Our story was called 'Funny Faces' so we all thought we would try pull our best funny face and compare it to the characters in our story. What do you all think of our faces?

Rūma tekau (Room 10) tamariki have been enjoying our tino reka (very delicious) hot chocolate. If your child is rewarded a hot chocolate and lunch date with their kaiako (teacher) make sure you ask them how they earned it!

Football Skills

Last week (week 6, 6-10th of March) we were lucky enough to have a local rugby club come into the school and teach us some hand-eye co-ordination games and skills with a rugby ball. We can't wait to have them come and visit us again!

How long is a Blue Whale?

Today (5/04) we were curious as to how big a blue whale is. We went outside with our rulers in pairs measured out ... meters! Leave a comment to guess how many meters long you think a blue whale is.

There was a hut!

For writing in term 1 we used our senses to describe what it would be like to live in a hut in the middle of a storm. Come on into Room 10 to check out our descriptive writing.

Hat Parade

On the last day of term 1 we did a hat parade with Team Harakeke. We were amazed by the other classes hats and enjoyed making our own. We were very creative and tried to run with the Easter theme.

  1. I am guessing a blue whale is about 28 metres long. I have seen the skeleton of the blue whale in the Canterbury Museum and it was enormous!
